My life would suck without you.

So tonight is the night. Kelly Clarkson starts at 7:30 PM in Grand Prairie at the Verizon Theater. I'm "working" and then I'm heading straight there. It's going to be amazing. I'll be putting up my review probably around tomorrow night.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired.

So last night, I went to see Cody Canada and the Departed at Crosswire in Paris, TX. Let me tell you something, that place is sketchy. I've been there a handful of times, mostly as a laugh, but never had I attended a concert there. Sorry for the little rant, and on to the main attraction. Cody Canada did not fail to put on a show. I love his throaty voice. I do wish that Cross Canadian Ragweed was still together. I was thinking Cross Canadian Ragweed, not Cody Canada and the Departed. That was my own fault though. They put on a great show, it just wasn't something I was into. It was a good time though. I got to see a lot of old friends and catch up. There were places to sit inside of Crosswire, and it was fairly easy to talk. Given all that information my rating is... (out of a 5 WOW scale)

-My next blog is probably going to be up tonight, after the Super Bowl. I want to give Madonna a shot to make it into my TOP TEN Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Stay tuned.

-Later this week, a brand new web series called "What Girls Think at Concerts."

NOOOOOOOOO!!! KELLY CLARKSON!!!

Well I know I said my next blog would involve a feature over Lady Antebellum, but plans have changed. Life moves on. I am still attending the Lady Antebellum concert, but I will be seeing the incomparable KELLY CLARKSON first. My sister and I just sat down and ordered the tickets. I'm almost as excited as when I purchased my Britney Spears tickets from this summer. So let me give a TOP FIVE Kelly Clarkson songs I'm looking forward to seeing live.

#5 - A Moment Like This.
Okay, now I know this is a sappy little song, but this is the song she sang right after she won American Idol. She was the first winner. A lot of people forget that. She has so many hit songs, but this is the first thing that people could identify as hers.

#4 - Low.
This is on my list because it's almost my favorite Kelly Clarkson song. As a teenage girl, I basically thought every song that had a boy acting like an asshole was about my life. I used them as personal theme songs. I can't even recall the boy that I believed this song was made for, but it doesn't change how much I love it.

#3 - Behind These Hazel Eyes.
I remember a band coming to our high school, and they played this song and I sang along so loud, because like I said earlier, every Kelly Clarkson song was an anthem to me. I was under the ridiculous impression that my eyes were hazel when in fact they are brown.

#2 - Since U Been Gone.
This, as my brother says, is the song that she came out with that changed who she was as an artist. She was already playing up to the teenage girls demographic, but this was a step into the rock world that really worked for her. You could turn up the volume and blast this song and not care what the rest of the world thought.

#1 - Beautiful Disaster.
This is my FAVORITE Kelly Clarkson song. This song came on her CD Breakaway as a Live Track. I will never get tired of this song. Ever.

I am so looking forward to this concert, now. Making this list made me even more excited.

Coming Soon on Music W/ Cait:
-Presentation on Childish Gambino.
-What CK and Catta are looking forward to at the Lady Antebellum concert.

Last year's wishes, are this year's apologies.

My first real concert was The Honda Civic Fall Out Boy Tour featuring Cobra Starship, Paul Wall (which is something I will never understand) The Academy Is.., and +44. I went with my best friend, Aime'e. Now when I say this was my first real concert, I mean that it was the first one I had been dropped off at and allowed to be kind of an adult. I had been to concerts with my family before. I got NSYNC tickets for my 10th birthday. I saw Eric Clapton, B.B. King, John Mayer, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, and more at Crossroads when I was 14. I was already pretty nuts about live music. So you're probably thinking "Why did she go to a Fall Out Boy concert?" And the answer is.. it seemed like the cool thing to do at the time.  I can remember every little detail of that concert to this day, and it was 5 years ago. This one concert started an addiction that grew slowly (probably because I never seemed to have any money in high school) to a full-on obsession I have with live music.

Enough of my little trip down memory lane. How about I give you a rundown of the shows I'll be attending for the next few months and some of the things I wish I could get to?

Attending :
Lady Antebellum on Feb 18 @ 7:30 PM @ American Airlines Center
Radiohead on March 5 @ 7:30 PM @ American Airlines Center
John Mayer on March 16 @ 8:30 PM @ Winstar
Childish Gambino on April 7 @ 8:00 PM @ The Palladium Ballroom

Wish List (January - February) :
Bryan Adams on Jan 28 @ 8:00 PM @ Majestic Theater (Dallas)
Mutemath on Jan 28 @ 8:00 PM @ House of Blues (Dallas)
Kelly Clarkson on Feb 10 @ 7:30 PM @ Verizon Theater (Grand Prairie)
Estelle on Feb 14 @ 7:00 PM @ House of Blues (Dallas)\
Trey Songz on Feb 14 @ 7:30 PM @ Verizon Theater (Grand Prairie)
Lenny Kravitz on Feb 22 @ 8:00 PM @ Verizon Theater (Grand Prairie)
Robert Earl Keen on Feb 24 @ 10:30 PM @ Billy Bob's
B.B. King on Feb 25 @ 10:30 PM @ Billy Bob's

As you can see my taste in music is a little.. well my friends like to call it weird, but I'm just going to say eclectic. I like anything from old school rap to new country.

I'm going to leave y'all with a little tip.
Those of you who don't mind raining sweat, enormous crowds of people, really weird smells from campsites around you, and just plain weird people should really check out Bonnaroo. It's a three day music festival in Manchester, TN. And I know you're thinking.. "Where is Manchester, TN?" It's right by Memphis. My friend, Courtney and I drove 11 hours to get there this past summer. It is a great mix of artists. You can hear practically every type of music you like there. It was a really fun and empowering experience (empowering because I realized I could put up a tent by myself), and I fully recommend it for anyone who needs a little vacation from life. Now the tickets are a bit expensive, but they are so worth it. You can find out more about it if you just google Bonnaroo.

Next time:
-A feature on Lady Antebellum.
-A slideshow to show you who Childish Gambino is.

Catch ya later! :)

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?

Hi, I'm Cait B! I'm going to start my new blog off with a few questions for you, the reader. Do you like music? Have you ever been to a concert? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you may keep reading. If not, then I really don't see why you would want to read this. My blog has these specific purposes: to cover some of the awesome tours going around the USA right now, to get some real opinions from concert goers, and to document how much fun it can be to listen to live music. In the next few weeks, I'm going to let y'all know what concerts I'm going to be personally covering. Hope everyone checks out my next post!!
